Riccione Swimming Stadium APS

Michele Nitti is the President of Polisportiva Riccione APS, which manages the Riccione Swimming Stadium, the most important swimming facility in Italy.

I got to know Leucum System, the company that produces DocciaPay systems, almost by chance, through the company that supplies us with the management software.
I had explained very clearly how I wanted to handle the shower and hairdryer services and they immediately pointed me in the direction of this solution, telling me that I would not find anything similar anywhere else; I trust that person a lot and decided to look into it.

In the past, we had already tried other “pay-as-you-go” systems for showers and hairdryers, but they were not suitable for our reality: the facility accommodates more than 600 people per day, plus competitions with thousands of attendees.
I am always rather sceptical, but when I was introduced to DocciaPay, I realised it could be the right solution: extreme ease of use for users, a clear and intuitive control panel on consumption and collections, and a pay-per-use model that is really effective in reducing waste.

After a short running-in phase, I can say that I am fully satisfied: the system has fulfilled all its promises, improving internal management and bringing concrete benefits in terms of both efficiency and sustainability.
At first, users experienced a small moment of bewilderment: it is not easy to change habits from the old one-shot system, but in a short time they realised the advantages, i.e. clarity of the service, payment only for actual use, and a clear environmental value linked to responsible use of water and energy.

At first I didn't understand how they could provide us with rapid assistance over 400 km away, then I saw it with my own eyes: the system is fully wired and allows us to remotely control the operation of each individual shower or hairdryer.
What seemed unbelievable to me has now become the norm, and the possibility of installing everything on a free loan - with no upfront investment and no debt - has, after almost two years of use, proved to be a winning choice.

Managing the Swimming Stadium is not easy and over time I have realised that the choice of suppliers is decisive in order to govern a facility of this size in the best possible way; that is why I have to surround myself with the best, especially when they offer a really high level of service.
If someone were to ask me whether I would recommend the system, I would do so without hesitation: I would recommend it to anyone who runs a sports facility, particularly large complexes or multi-centre realities.

The real plus we appreciated most of all was the Free Time module.
Previously, with the old system, we were forced to manually load thousands of “shower and hairdryer shots” for all users every month, with chaotic management: lost cards all the time, no real savings on water, electricity and gas, and minimal takings; today, with DocciaPay, we finally have orderly, precise, sustainable and fully under control management

Astoria Centre in Chioggia (VE)

Fabrizio Boscolo (Nale) development manager of Centro Astoria in Chioggia (VE), an equipped beach with more than 1,500 beach umbrellas, 400 cabins, 2,500 km of platforms with inclusive accessibility in the centre of Sottomarina di Chioggia (Venice).

An area of 10 hectares is located in the southern lagoon of Venice, nestled between the sea, the lagoon, the mainland and the Po Delta, and offers tourist services with considerable potential, thanks also to the particular conformation of the Sottomarina beach, which is very wide, with fine golden sand, rich in minerals and characterised by a constant sea breeze full of iodine, as well as a range of sports activities, a gym, swimming pools, entertainment and refreshment points.

I got to know the DocciaPay system through one of our suppliers and software consultants.
Before then I was not familiar with the product and we had already experimented with other systems for shower management, based on rechargeable “shower hit” sticks, which we dismantled because they gave us so many problems, were unreliable and in addition could not be integrated with our systems.

DocciaPay was an interesting discovery: the pay-per-use delivery model not only saves water and gas, but is, in my opinion, a simple and intelligent method of delivery.
The system is very stable, it works well and does not give us any problems, we are able to control consumption, manage refills, intervene if the card is lost and we have managed to integrate the service into our business model.

The installation took place in 2020, and our customers immediately appreciated the new service.
As far as service is concerned, I have no criticism: they always answer the phone and emails and have always done their work professionally and quickly, so I consider Leucum System a very good supplier.

If someone asked me for a pay shower system, I would certainly recommend DocciaPay.

Madame SiSi Gymnasium

Francesco De Salvia has been running the Madame SiSi gym in the province of Mantua for almost 10 years.

I have been running the Madame SiSi gym in the province of Mantua for almost ten years now, and have always focused on improving my own and my clients' psychophysical condition. Honestly, I had never really dealt with optimising water, electricity and gas - especially in the changing rooms.

When I arrived, on the advice of the management provider, I decided to install DocciaPay and integrate it with what is now Wellness in the Cloud.

We packaged various subscriptions including an amount of shower time.

Each customer has a set time of free service per day, without being able to “accumulate” the days when they do not come.

The best thing, for me, is that once the sale is closed the system works automatically: I don't have to remember anything, the system does it all.

DocciaPay also allowed me to ward off the “Portuguese”: those who came almost only to shower at the gym and use hot water for half an hour, perhaps to save money at home.

It sounds paradoxical, but thanks to this system I have really “weighed” my customers: today I know that those who attend consistently have the same goal as me and are not here to take advantage.

I chose DocciaPay knowing that there were cheaper solutions on the market, but none did what I was looking for, especially in terms of integration and control.

Nine years on, I can say that it has paid off handsomely, considering that the girls in reception now concentrate on subscriptions and not on running the showers.

About the service I have no doubt: they are always there, they respond, they are courteous and they really want to solve problems.

After almost ten years, I recommend all colleagues to install a system like DocciaPay, in a few minutes you realise how much the management of changing rooms and consumption can change.

Caorle Bathing Establishment

Alberto Borin, President pro tempore of the Consorzio per lo Sviluppo e la Gestione degli Arenili della Marina di Caorle soc. cons. a r.l.

The Consorzio Arenili Caorle is a consortium company established in the 1970s from the fusion of many small bathing establishments existing on the Caorle sandy shore into a single entity. Today, the Consortium is a consolidated reality in the tourist economy of the Veneto seaside resort, guaranteeing a total capacity of about 10,000 beach umbrellas, most of which are at the service of the city's accommodation facilities.

With the pay-as-you-go system proposed to us by Leucum System, DocciaPay we have achieved a rationalisation of the use of the resource, with a consequent reduction in water consumption. Since this was a pilot installation, due to the extension of the beach networks and the size of the establishments, it was not possible to accurately measure the savings, but the more parsimonious use of water guaranteed by the pay-as-you-go service, even for a symbolic fee, made it possible to almost entirely satisfy the demand for hot water through the production of solar thermal panels alone.

I believe that a delivery model pay per use of water and energy is a smart choice in terms of efficiency and savings, because it empowers the user and enables a more sustainable management of resources.

The operation of the system is intuitive and is clearly explained in the signage in the shower room, which we have translated into several languages according to where our customers come from, so that the instructions are accessible to everyone.

The management and metering system works correctly, as per the specifications received, and the consumption monitoring interface has proved very useful for daily control. During the season of use, we have not experienced any malfunctions.

The service was also up to the mark: the only intervention required during the season was on the card credit reader, which did not cause any disruption to the water supply system; the problem required a simple system reboot, which the Leucum technicians carried out remotely, with the ticket resolved in about 20 minutes.

Overall, the DocciaPay system from Leucum System proved to be efficient and perfectly in line with our expectations, so much so that we can also recommend it as a viable solution to other colleagues in the industry.

Base 190 Sports Centre

Alessandra Saglia coordinator of Base 190 in Canale (CN) sports centre with indoor and outdoor pools, gym, fitness rooms and padel courts.

When we opened Base 190 in Canale in 2018, we were looking for an innovative solution to manage showers and hair dryers. I had previously managed gyms of my own in Alba, where we used classic tokens: they did their job, but had nothing to do with the experience we wanted to offer our users. So we chose to install the DocciaPay system, attracted by its modern design and the clever way it managed the pay-per-use service delivery.

To be honest, we didn't really know what to expect at the beginning. Leucum System, the company that produces the systems, was then a young company, and I admit that today, looking back, I would call our choice a rather bold one. But something, right from the start, inspired confidence in me: the professionalism and transparency of the team. And that trust, over time, proved to be more than deserved.

Over the years there have been continuous updates and improvements. The service is always present, punctual and fast. After almost eight years I can say with conviction that we made the right choice. We are now looking forward to the online top-up app, the new DocciaPay App, which will make everything even more convenient for both us and our customers.

A function we use often is the “race mode”: we activate it during open days or promotional days at the beginning of the season. It is very convenient because it allows us to use showers and hairdryers without a card, just by setting the time of use. Considering that our showers do not have mixers, this solution is perfect: the stop button activates the delivery for the set time, like a timer, with great convenience. If I had to give advice to my colleagues in the industry, I would say without hesitation to evaluate DocciaPay, It is a reliable, flexible and constantly evolving system. I believe it still has enormous room for growth, capable of taking sports facilities to a level of management and service that would have been unthinkable a few years ago.

The Guastalla Swimming Pools

Cristiano Bigi Owner and manager of “Le Piscine di Guastalla” - a well-established facility for over 30 years in the province of Reggio Emilia that includes five indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a gymnasium, course rooms and paddle courts.

“I got to know the DocciaPay system at the Bologna trade fair in 2018. After visiting several stands, my attention fell on them: they were the only ones able to integrate a new payment system without forcing me to replace cards and turnstile readers, which still used outdated 125 kHz technology.

Before, everything was free: showers and hairdryers were free, but the waste had become unsustainable. I had wanted to introduce a pay system for some time, but could not find a solution compatible with my existing infrastructure. With DocciaPay I finally solved the problem.

Since the system has been installed, waste has been reduced to zero and customers really appreciate the fact that they only pay for what they actually use. The hairdryers are powerful and high-performance, and the female audience in particular appreciates them very much - so much so, I admit, that they have even stolen some sometimes!

Another key aspect is the assistance: always present and prompt. In seven years, there has never been an occasion when the phone has not been answered. If a fault occurs, the spare part is dispatched the same day. In seven years of use, the system has never stopped.

At first, I only chose DocciaPay to solve a technical problem with the cards. Today, after many years, I can say with certainty that I made the right choice.”

Lido Azzurro swimming pool in Varedo

Anna Di Ceglie Manager and operator of the Lido Azzurro swimming pool in Varedo, a historic 50-metre Olympic-size pool ideal for free swimming, with a wellness area and a large outdoor park that includes two outdoor pools.

I got to know the DocciaPay system through one of our marketing consultants and, together, we decided to install it to overcome the limitations of the previous rental system, which did not allow effective control of water consumption. In the past, showers and hairdryers were managed with token machines at EUR 0.20 every 2 minutes, a mode that worked but was inflexible and not optimal from a management point of view.

We chose to buy the system: it is definitely not a cheap solution, but since we own the pool we preferred to invest in a structured and durable system. The new system has brought a decidedly significant increase in revenue, because before, with the rental system, we were only left with 40% of revenue, whereas today the management is much more profitable and sustainable for the facility.

I consider the pay-per-use model for water and energy a smart choice, especially with a view to accountability and control of consumption, which is particularly important in environments like swimming pools. Although I have not seen any obvious reductions in water, electricity and gas bills, the system has made day-to-day operations easier and ensured that the service is always fairly remunerated. Overall, I am very satisfied with the results and appreciate the transition to a more controllable and profitable system.

In the beginning it was not easy to explain the operation of the system to customers, but with time the use became natural for everyone and the service supported us in dealing with critical issues. The hairdryers are used a lot and we buy a lot of them, a sign that the service is perceived as useful and in demand. Based on this positive experience, I would undoubtedly recommend the DocciaPay system to colleagues who manage sports facilities and swimming pools, because it helps to optimise operations in dynamic realities like the Lido Azzurro.

So.g.i.s. S.r.l.

Lorenzo Dodi General Manager of So.g.i.s. S.r.l., a company that manages 28 sports facilities in the municipalities of Fidenza and Salsomaggiore Terme, including the indoor swimming pool in Fidenza, where the DocciaPay pay-per-use management system for showers and hairdryers has been installed.

I became aware of this system through an online search, carried out to identify innovative solutions in the management of swimming pool accessory services. The decision to introduce showers and hairdryers for a fee arose from the need to optimise consumption and reduce waste, giving users responsibility and ensuring greater fairness and order in the use of services.

The installation of the ShowerPay system took place in August 2022

Previously, the service was free and included in the entrance fee, a simple modality but one that did not allow for timely control of consumption nor a real empowerment of users. With the installation of DocciaPay, we have taken a step forward towards a more balanced and sustainable management of resources, achieving a significant reduction in water and electricity consumption and greater general awareness of water and energy use.

I consider the delivery model pay per use a very intelligent solution for saving energy, because it allows resources to be used only when necessary, avoiding waste and balancing quality of service and responsibility in use. The operation proved to be simple and intuitive: users quickly understood how to use the system and we found no particular difficulties in integrating it into the daily management of the pool.

We are a publicly owned company and we care about the wellbeing of our citizens, with particular attention to the most vulnerable groups, young people and sportsmen and women. We have therefore greatly appreciated the flexibility offered by the “Free Time” module, which has allowed us to grant free use of the service, for a predetermined time and once a day, to schools, sports groups or specific categories. The system also guarantees order and traceability, preventing the accumulation of unused time on days of absence.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the result: service management is more efficient, waste has been reduced and the plant is now more sustainable.

The service was punctual and always available, and based on this experience, I would also recommend this system to a colleague who would like to improve the management of showers and hairdryers in his or her facility.
