Lorenzo Dodi General Manager of So.g.i.s. S.r.l., a company that manages 28 sports facilities in the municipalities of Fidenza and Salsomaggiore Terme, including the indoor swimming pool in Fidenza, where the DocciaPay pay-per-use management system for showers and hairdryers has been installed.

I became aware of this system through an online search, carried out to identify innovative solutions in the management of swimming pool accessory services. The decision to introduce showers and hairdryers for a fee arose from the need to optimise consumption and reduce waste, giving users responsibility and ensuring greater fairness and order in the use of services.

The installation of the ShowerPay system took place in August 2022

Previously, the service was free and included in the entrance fee, a simple modality but one that did not allow for timely control of consumption nor a real empowerment of users. With the installation of DocciaPay, we have taken a step forward towards a more balanced and sustainable management of resources, achieving a significant reduction in water and electricity consumption and greater general awareness of water and energy use.

I consider the delivery model pay per use a very intelligent solution for saving energy, because it allows resources to be used only when necessary, avoiding waste and balancing quality of service and responsibility in use. The operation proved to be simple and intuitive: users quickly understood how to use the system and we found no particular difficulties in integrating it into the daily management of the pool.

We are a publicly owned company and we care about the wellbeing of our citizens, with particular attention to the most vulnerable groups, young people and sportsmen and women. We have therefore greatly appreciated the flexibility offered by the “Free Time” module, which has allowed us to grant free use of the service, for a predetermined time and once a day, to schools, sports groups or specific categories. The system also guarantees order and traceability, preventing the accumulation of unused time on days of absence.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the result: service management is more efficient, waste has been reduced and the plant is now more sustainable.

The service was punctual and always available, and based on this experience, I would also recommend this system to a colleague who would like to improve the management of showers and hairdryers in his or her facility.
