Anna Di Ceglie Manager and operator of the Lido Azzurro swimming pool in Varedo, a historic 50-metre Olympic-size pool ideal for free swimming, with a wellness area and a large outdoor park that includes two outdoor pools.
I got to know the DocciaPay system through one of our marketing consultants and, together, we decided to install it to overcome the limitations of the previous rental system, which did not allow effective control of water consumption. In the past, showers and hairdryers were managed with token machines at EUR 0.20 every 2 minutes, a mode that worked but was inflexible and not optimal from a management point of view.
We chose to buy the system: it is definitely not a cheap solution, but since we own the pool we preferred to invest in a structured and durable system. The new system has brought a decidedly significant increase in revenue, because before, with the rental system, we were only left with 40% of revenue, whereas today the management is much more profitable and sustainable for the facility.
I consider the pay-per-use model for water and energy a smart choice, especially with a view to accountability and control of consumption, which is particularly important in environments like swimming pools. Although I have not seen any obvious reductions in water, electricity and gas bills, the system has made day-to-day operations easier and ensured that the service is always fairly remunerated. Overall, I am very satisfied with the results and appreciate the transition to a more controllable and profitable system.
In the beginning it was not easy to explain the operation of the system to customers, but with time the use became natural for everyone and the service supported us in dealing with critical issues. The hairdryers are used a lot and we buy a lot of them, a sign that the service is perceived as useful and in demand. Based on this positive experience, I would undoubtedly recommend the DocciaPay system to colleagues who manage sports facilities and swimming pools, because it helps to optimise operations in dynamic realities like the Lido Azzurro.
